But nothing materialized leaving the state cash-strapped. So the state government had decided not to show a Jumbo budget this year and would also show borrowings. Last year, Telangana presented a budget of Rs 1.15 Lakh Crore. Initial plans were to present a Budget in the range of Rs 1.40 lakh crore.

But taking this realistic stance, the state government decided to put up 1.10 Lakh Crore Budget. Against the Rs 1.15 lakh crore size of the 2015-16 Budget, the state government could not even touch the One Lakh Crore Mark. The state government is keen on more borrowings to take up irrigation projects, Mission Bhageeratha, 2BHK houses and KG-to-PG Free Education.
