Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expanded his cabinet a short while ago. Modi inducted 19 new faces in to his team. However there is no single Telugu face in the newly inducted faces. There were rumours that the current BJP President and Vishakapatnam MP, Haribabu may be taken in to cabinet but that did not happen.

The rumours of TDP having a chance for one more cabinet berth also did not materialize. No Telangana BJP leader is also given a chance and that leaves with no Telugu face in the new list. Venkaiah Naidu, Bandaru Dattatreya, Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Sujana Chowdary are the Telugu Ministers in Modi’s team.
Modi and Amit Shah seem to have given importance for the leaders hailing from the states which will go to election very soon. The list has several who are OBCs, five Dalits, two from minority communities and two women. Five Ministers were dropped from the earlier team for various reasons.
