The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti has put up a grand One Lakh Crore Budget in the newest state’s first ever budget. However all those big talks have now fallen apart with the state finance struggling. Telangana’s Budget has an income estimation of 48620 Crores for the 10 months. But till December the income is only to the extent of 22250 Crore which means not even half.
The remaining income can not be achieved in the remaining three months. The government easily played with the numbers stating that it is not able to estimate the incomes of the new state but now as the performance is known, it has to be correct. Going by the right methods, the next budget can not be One Lakh Crore unless the ruling party resorts to number game.
On the other side, massive challenges await the state as many programs like Water Grid, Free land to Dalits, Free 2 BHK Flats to poor etc will being fully in the coming year and will take a heavy toll on the already burdened budget.
