Tirupati MLA Bhumana Karunakara Reddy was made the TTD Chairman recently. He wants to retire from active politics and make his son, Abhinay Reddy his heir in Tirupati. Abhinay Reddy is the Deputy Mayor of Tirupati Corporation.
Giving Sirish Yadav a ticket will help the YSR Congress Jagan believes. Abhinay Reddy will be made the Mayor in her place. Bhumana wants the Tirupati Assembly ticket for his son. But it looks like Jagan is not in favor of giving the ticket to Abhinay Reddy. Caste calculations in Tirupati favor Mayor Dr Sirisha Yadav. Balijas and Yadavs are in majority in Tirupati. Both these communities favor TDP.

In the 2019 elections, Bhumana won this seat with just 700 votes majority. Janasena got more than 12,000 votes here and also, caste calculations favored more votes to the TDP candidate Sugunamma. So, the YSR Congress is being careful this time.
Meanwhile, it has to be seen if TDP or Janasena will contest from here. Previously, Chiranjeevi contested and won as an MLA from here due to the strong community support. So, Janasena will seek this seat.
But then, TDP got 80K votes here in 2019 while Janasena got only 12K votes despite having a strong candidate in Chadalavada Krishnamurthy. So, TDP will be skeptical about Janasena’s strength if it were to leave the seat.
