Non-Bailable Warrant Against Amazon

Amazon faces non-bailable warrant in Kurnool

The Kurnool Consumer Forum has issued a non-bailable warrant against Amazon after the company failed to follow a refund order. The action came after a customer’s complaint over receiving a wrong product instead of an iPhone 15 Plus.

The buyer had paid Rs 80,000 for an iPhone on Amazon but received an IQ phone instead. Despite multiple chats with customer service, Amazon neither replaced the phone nor resolved the issue, leaving the customer frustrated.

The customer then approached the Kurnool Consumer Forum, which ordered Amazon to refund Rs 80,000 and pay an additional Rs 25,000 as compensation. When Amazon failed to comply, the court issued a non-bailable warrant against the company. The next hearing is set for November 21.

Amazon remains one of India’s most popular e-commerce platforms, especially during the festive season when it offers heavy discounts. However, incidents like this, where customers receive fake or incorrect items, continue to raise concerns about online shopping reliability.

Many consumers on online forums now advise buying expensive electronics from trusted offline stores instead of depending entirely on e-commerce websites for high-value purchases.
