The petitioners, claims the possession of five of the eight acres allocated for the Command Center. They had applied to the principal revenue secretary in 2007 seeking regularization of the land in their names but their application was rejected on April 30, 2007. They are fighting the issue in courts that the reason for the rejection is not valid.

A single judge gave an interim stay but the government proceeded with the construction getting the stay vacated by a division bench of the Hyderabad High Court. Finally the issue reached Supreme Court now. The construction will only resume till the revenue authorities pass an order on the appellants’ application for regularization of the land in their names.
