Operation Sindoor Success: Rs 50,000 Crore Funds for Indian Army

Operation Sindoor has been a success and the Union government has decided to grant Rs 50,000 crore funds to the defense ministry. With this, the overall defense budget will be more than Rs 7 lakh crore.

Following the Pahalgam attack, Indians and other countries wondered as to how the Indian government will counter the attack. But the government successfully conducted Operation Sindoor.

Our Armed Forces entered the Pakistan territory and destroyed the terrorist bases. Around 100 terrorists were killed in the attack. Later, during war-like situation between India and Pakistan, India destroyed Pakistan air bases and thwarted the air attacks by Pakistan.

Hence, keeping in mind the future needs of the country, it is said that the Union government has decided to allot Rs 50,000 crore to the defense ministry in 2025. For 2025-26, Indian government had allocated Rs 6.81 lakh crore for defense. In 2024-25, it had allocated Rs 6.22 lakh crore. But for 2025-26, it has increased the share by 9.2%.

For the coming budget for 2026-27, India is planning to add Rs 50,000 crore to Rs 6.81 lakh crore. This means the defense budget will cross Rs 7 lakh crore. The file will be ratified by the Cabinet during the winter session.




The Rs 7 lakh crore budget will be used for R&D, buying of weapons and other requirements. Ever since Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister in 2014, he has focused on defense spending. Immediately after coming to power, he allocated Rs 2.21 lakh crore for defense.
