Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh and Minister for Forests and Environment, Pawan Kalyan, has directed higher officials to take criminal action against Peddireddy and family who encroached forest lands in Chittoor. Deputy CM told the officials to book them under forest laws.

Pawan Kalyan also ordered the officials to identify officers who could not or did not stop Peddireddy and family from encroaching and take action against them according to department rules. The vigilance and enforcement DG submitted a report to Pawan Kalyan regarding Peddireddy and family taking over forest lands, government lands and Buggamatham lands.
DG had recommended that criminal action must be taken against encroachers and action must be taken on officers who could not stop it. After getting the report, Pawan Kalyan discussed with his department officers and gave directions to take action as per recommendations by vigilance and enforcement DG.

The alliance government put its focus on Peddireddy Ramachandrareddy and his family for unlawfully occupying 27 acres of forest land in Chittoor district as a part of its crackdown on YSRCP leaders involved in illegal activities.
