The NDA leadership in Andhra Pradesh has repeatedly raised concerns about alleged attempts to create differences between TDP and Janasena supporters. Alliance leaders have accused sections of the YCP social media wing of spreading misinformation to create confusion and political friction.
There have been allegations that individuals linked to YCP are creating fake social media accounts in the names of TDP and Janasena supporters. These accounts are allegedly being used to circulate misleading content and provoke disagreements within the ruling alliance.
A fresh development has now brought attention to these concerns. Andhra Pradesh Police have reportedly arrested an individual accused of creating a fake social media account in the name of Pawan Kalyan and posting objectionable content against Nara Lokesh.
According to the allegations, the accused operated the fake account using Pawan Kalyan‘s identity and repeatedly shared posts targeting Nara Lokesh. The activity has raised questions about whether such accounts are being used to create tensions between TDP and Janasena supporters.
Nallapadu police reportedly took Teerthala Naga Venkata Durga Rakesh, a resident of Errabalemkku in Mangalagiri, into custody in Hyderabad. He is accused of operating the fake account and circulating content against Nara Lokesh through social media.
Police are reportedly questioning the accused to determine whether anyone else was involved in the alleged campaign. Investigators are also examining whether the activity was carried out independently or with support from external individuals or organisations.
The incident has renewed concerns about fake political accounts and misleading campaigns on social media. However, any alleged connection between the accused and YCP remains subject to verification, and the investigation will be important in establishing the facts.
The development also highlights the challenges political parties face in identifying impersonation and misinformation online. With tensions already surrounding the allegations, the case could draw further attention to social media activity involving TDP, Janasena and YCP supporters.
