Andhra Pradesh has already found one of its most dynamic deputy chief ministers in the form of Pawan Kalyan, who is perhaps the best performing leader at this capacity in AP’s brief political history.
But Pawan Kalyan appears to have set his aspirations on bigger gains as he recently spoke about holding home Minister position. He said certain political leaders in AP are lucky that he is not the home minister as they’d face the music if he becomes the designated home minister.
This discussion was reignited by Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, who is the deputy speaker of Andhra Pradesh assembly. He said he believes that Chandrababu Naidu will definitely reward deputy CM Pawan Kalyan with home Minister position in the future.
RRR confidently said he will complain about certain extremely violent politicians to Pawan Kalyan once he becomes the home minister in the hope that he would set things right. This statement from RRR looked like a stage setting exercise for the possible arrival of PK as the home minister of the state.
But this will certainly not be a straightforward decision as changing the home minister is a pretty significant shuffling in the cabinet. Moreover, it has been a common practice for the last two decades in AP since before bifurcation to have a female candidate as the home minister. Breaking this would be out of the box.
Only time will answer if the Andhra Pradesh cabinet would take the significant enough decision of announcing Pawan Kalyan as the home minister in the days to follow.
