Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who has often described himself as an unapologetic Sanatani, has called for the creation of a special board dedicated to the protection of Sanatana Dharma.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Pawan Kalyan stressed that Tirumala Tirupati represents far more than a religious site it is an emotional and spiritual symbol for Hindus worldwide.
He said that the Tirupati laddoo is not just a sweet, but a reflection of shared devotion and collective belief. “We distribute Tirupati laddoo to our friends and family with love and pride. It represents the combined faith of millions,” he wrote, noting that nearly 2.5 crore devotees visit Tirumala every year.
Expressing concern, Pawan Kalyan said he was deeply hurt by recent attempts to undermine the sanctity of Tirumala. He urged both political and religious groups to maintain secular and respectful approaches toward faith.
“It is time to debate the importance of belief systems and the respect they deserve. Sanatana Dharma is an ancient concept that continues to evolve with time,” he stated.
The Deputy CM concluded by emphasising that the time has come to establish a dedicated board to preserve and protect Sanatana Dharma and ensure that its values are upheld in modern society.
