Former Minister Perni Nani is in neck-deep trouble in the Ration Rice Scam. Into the details, Ration Rice, which was stored in a Godown belonging to Nani, went missing. A case has been registered after the new government is seriously pursuing ration rice re-cycling scams.
The Godown is on the name of Nani’s wife, Jayasudha and she has been named as A-1 in the case. She got anticipatory bail in this case and Nani is A-6.
Nani filed a Lunch-Motion Petition in the AP High Court and has argued that the Government is after him and his family even though he paid One Crore 67 Lakhs as a Recovery amount for the missing rice.
We do not know what the Court will decide but this logic of ‘cases even after recovery’ is laughable.
If cases are dropped if the recovery is done, there will be no cases of thefts.
If that is the case, every thief who gets caught will pay the recovery and ask to drop the cases.
Just because Nani is a Former Minister, the law will not be different.
Meanwhile, the Krishna District Joint Collector has sent notices to Jayasudha demanding recovery of another Rs 1.67 crore.
On the other hand, four people were arrested in connection with this case. Godown Manager Manasa Teja, Civil Supplies Assistant Manager Kotireddy, Lorry Driver Manga Rao, and Lorry Driver Snehithudu Anjaneyulu were arrested. The judge remanded them for 12 days.
