Former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal has quit active politics after the bifurcation. He is into business full-time but would occasionally give Guest appearances in politics with his surveys which have gone wrong in the 2019 elections.
For a long time, there have been rumors about him making his political re-entry but nothing happened.
There are speculations that his son may contest on a TDP ticket from Gannavaram but even that did not happen.
On Tuesday, some leaders who are close to Lagadapati conducted a meeting in a Hotel in Vijayawada and discussed Lagadapati’s re-entry. They unanimously decided that they would back Lagadapati from whatever party he chose.
There is no information if this meeting was arranged with the knowledge of the former MP.
Lagadapati repeatedly maintained that he is not interested in politics any more. Even if he is, it will be interesting to see from which party he contests. He is not in good terms with Jagan and there are enough contenders for TDP.
His old party Congress is as good as dead in Andhra Pradesh and he will not stand a chance if he contests from the BJP.
He will have some options from TDP in case he decides to go for the Assembly.
