Polling: YSRCP Cadre Resorts To Arson

The polling is currently underway in Telugu states. While it is going on smoothly in Telangana, the ruling YSR Congress Party has been creating disturbances in Andhra Pradesh.

YCP leaders in the state are kidnapping and beating up agents at polling stations. In Rentala village of Rentachintala Mandal located in the Palnadu district, YCP leaders attacked Telugu Desam Party leaders at the polling booth.

In Papayyagari Palle village of Pullampeta Mandal in Annamayya district, TDP agent Subash was attacked by the associates of red-sandalwood smuggler Kollam Gangireddy.

A TDP agent was thrown away from the polling booth by the YCP leaders in Chinna Guluvaluru village of YSR Kadapa district.

A gang of YCP leaders mobbed at the polling booth in Kalyanadurgam of Anantapur district. TDP leaders objected to officials for allowing them into the station.

In Chittoor district’s Pileru, TDP leaders complained to the EC stating that a few of their agents were kidnapped by YCP leaders.

In Muppala village of Prakasham district, YCP agents attacked a few voters. Puttaparthi’s YCP contestant Duddikunta Sridhar Reddy’s supporters created a nuisance at the polling station in his hometown.

It was alleged that Uravakonda YCP contestant Vishweshwar Reddy’s PA Veeranna stopped polling at the 178th booth in the town.

Three individuals were injured in the fight between TDP and YCP leaders which took place at Gokarnapalle village located in Aamudalavalasa village.

In Palnadu district’s Kambampadu, YCP leaders tried to attack TDP agents with axes, daggers and stones. Immediately, police entered the scene and took the situation under control.

In Mallevaripalle village of railway Koduru constituency, TDP leader Ramparasad was beaten up by YCP leaders. He is taken to Rajampet Government Hospital for treatment.

During another event, a police officer attempted to physically manhandle a leader by assaulting him. In Pyapili village of the Dhone constituency, Sub-Inspector Jagadeeshwar Reddy slapped Market Yard Chairman Narayanamurthy, sparking a confrontation between him and Narayanamurthy’s followers. Eventually, additional police officers intervened to cool down the situation.
