Postal Ballot Voting

Postal Ballot Voting in Andhra Pradesh started on Saturday. Postal Ballot Voting is for Government employees who will be busy in the election duty on May 13th. They can cast their vote until the 10th of this month in designated polling stations.

There are allegations that the Government is trying to create problems in the Postal Ballot Voting since the employees are believed to be anti-Jagan.

There is chaos in the Facilitation Centers as the employees ran into many problems and many even had to go back without waiting yesterday and today too.

On Saturday, at some centers, the staff sent back the voters saying they did not receive the postal ballots of some constituencies.

The employees have appealed that they should be allowed to the constituency of their workplace. However, the authorities did not pay heed and said that they would provide an opportunity to use the postal ballot at the place where the election duties are performed.

The district officials have not clarified where an employee should use the postal ballot. The employees are seen going from one facilitation center to another to find their voting place. At the centers, there are no helpdesks to assist them.

Some employees are given election duty one day before the close of form-12 submission which is necessary for the Postal Ballot Voting. They are not helped even though they met the ROs. They are demanding extensions for Form-12 submission.

The Facilitation Centers lack basic amenities like water and fans. Employees claim it is an effort to make them go away without casting their votes as they can not wait long in this harsh summer.
