BJP is smelling a chance in Telangana for the first time in its history. The main opposition Congress being in complete shambles and the Modi wave at the Center is helping the BJP.
Even though there is a positive opinion about BJP in Telangana, there is a doubt if that will be enough to come to power.
The party lacks cadre and presence in some districts. Making things worse are the internal squabbles between leaders.
There is a friction between Party President Bandi Sanjay and Eatala Rajender who joined BJP much later but has become a prominent leader in the party in a short time.
Eatala heads a committee that engineers and admits leaders of other parties. That committee met former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and is trying to persuade him to join the party.
Media has asked Bandi about it and to everyone’s surprise he said he is not aware of Eatala meeting Ponguleti.
“I dont think Eatala not informing me is wrong. If Ponguleti comes, we will invite him,” Sanjay said.
If the Party President is not informed and a recently joined leader is calling shots in key decisions, it does not speak well about what is happening in that party. That too with elections very near.
