Popular poll strategist Prashant Kishor is all set to launch his new party. For the last two years, he has been going on ‘Jan Suraaj Yatra’ across Bihar.
On October 2, on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, Prashant Kishor will formally launch his party. The date also marks two years since the launch of the Jan Suraaj Yatra.
Prashant Kishor stated that his party will be contesting in all 243 seats in the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections. He would soon set up a panel of 21 members to handle party affairs.
After Trinamool Congress’s massive win in the 2021 West Bengal Assembly Elections, Prashant Kishor announced that he would leave political strategizing for a while and started the Jan Suraaj Yatra in Bihar in 2022.
In this yatra, Kishor travelled across the state and covered over 5000 km. Reportedly, he covered 14 districts on foot and 10 districts by car.
During this yatra, Kishor also formed a cadre from the grassroots of the state. Throughout the campaign, Kishor appealed to people not to vote based on caste or religion but to keep their children’s future in mind.
As a political strategist, Prashant Kishor played a vital role in BJP’s victory in 2014, YCP’s victory in 2019 (AP), TMC’s victory in 2021 (West Bengal) and DMK’s victory in 2021 (Tamil Nadu).
