
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, who acted as the primary authority in YSRCP government was involved in the land grab of 52.40 acres of forest land in CK Dinne village in YSR district. The same was ratified by the investigating committee on the matter. A total of 63.72 acre was in the hold of Sajjala and his family members, the committee said.

This included 8.05 acre of land procured by the government for Payavanka reservoir and some assigned land. The committee said that the Sajjala family destroyed forest lands and caused environmental damage. Also, they built a fencing and within it built a guest house and four rooms without any permissions.
They grew fruits and mangoes on the land, installed drip irrigation and had a harvesting room, thanks to which they got many concessions. The report by a three-member committee to look into the matter submitted its report to the government recently.

The report has all the details about when and how the land grab happened. Apart from Sajjala’s nephew Sajjala Sandeep Reddy, six others have been identified as encroachers. It requested the government to immediately take back the lands.
About 7 km away from Kadapa, Sajjala family has lands and the locals call it Sajjala Estate. While the family claimed they had 184.32 acres, it was found that they grabbed 63.72 acres. Though the forest range officer issued notices in 2014, Sajjala family maintained that they owned lands for the past 20 years and promised to cooperate in investigation.

The investigating committee has identified that Sajjala’s family created environmental damage, encroached forest lands and destroyed habitats of local fauna. It also recommended that the land be taken back and strict action be taken against Sajjala’s family members.
