Macharla’s YCP MLA Pinnelli Rama Krishna Reddy’s EVM smashing incident has been in the headlines for the past few days.
Already, the Andhra Pradesh High Court granted Pinnelli interim bail in the EVM smashing case and directed the Election Commission not to arrest him till June 6.
However, three additional cases were also filed against Pinnelli in the last few days, for allegedly attacking a TDP agent and a Circle Inspector. Meanwhile, he got relief from those cases as well.
The AP High Court granted Pinnelli conditional bail in all three new cases filed against him. The police were asked not to take action against Pinnelli till June 6, until the counting process is completed.
The court also ordered Pinnelli not to go to Macharla until the election results were announced. He was asked to provide his full Narasapuram address, surrender his passport, and report to the SP’s office every day.
On the polling day, Pinnelli damaged the EVM and VVPAT machines at the Palvai Gate polling booth in the Macharla constituency and that video surfaced on social media. The Election Commission also took the issue seriously and ordered Pinnelli’s arrest.
However, Pinnelli approached the AP High Court and got an interim bail. Now, he got interim bail in the rest of the cases as well.
