The Dera Sacha Sauda Chief, Ram Rahim Singh is popularly known as the Rocking Godman for all the filmy type gimmicks and sporting outfits which make him appear more like a rockstar rather than a godman. This controversial godman has involved himself in many controversies ranging from blasphemy to murder.
Presently this godman is in news because of his film ‘MSG: The Messenger of God’. Dera baba directed and starred in the movie. The Censor Board of Film Certification denied giving clearance to this movie on the grounds that the film may erupt religious protests and inappropriate for public viewing. But the Appellate Film Certification Tribunal gave clearance to the movie within 24 hours while a tribunal constitution and hearing would atleast take 15-20 days otherwise.
Angry with the turn of events, the Censor Board chief Leela Samson resigned from the post followed by another member Ira Bhaskar against the clearance. The film was set to go for premiere on 16th January, but it had to be delayed quoting incompleted formalities while the reality is otherwise. Huge protests have erupted opposing the movie’s release all over Punjab and Haryana.
Ms.Leela Samson is hurt and decided to quit because of interference and coersion and corruption of the panel while the Information and Broadcasting Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore refutes her charges and asks her to show evidences of the so called ‘interference’ and ‘coersion’.
