Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu took a major step toward standardising tech-driven healthcare by visiting the Krishnamsettipalli Primary Health Centre in Giddalur constituency to launch the Sanjeevani digital healthcare programme.
Following a highly successful experimental phase initially tested in Kuppam and sequentially scaled across Chittoor district, the state government has officially targeted August 15, 2026, for the massive state-wide implementation of this comprehensive medical platform.
The expansion forms a core pillar of the administration’s overarching “Healthy Andhra Pradesh” mission, aiming to bridge the critical gap between rural communities and advanced medical support.
The sophisticated platform operates as a fully integrated digital ecosystem that systematically links village sub-centres, local primary health centres, district hospitals, and premium super-speciality institutions under one unified grid. Sanjeevani automatically generates unique, heavily detailed digital health records for citizens, enabling medical history tracking across all public facilities.
The program aggressively streamlines patient management by integrating non-communicable disease screenings, maternal care databases, 108 emergency operations, and 104 mobile medical fleets. To maximize operational convenience for the public, the infrastructure automates online doctor appointments and digital prescription deliveries while utilizing localized follow-up alerts to ensure patient adherence.
A major highlight of this digital push is the planned introduction of an advanced, AI-enabled doctor system designed to drastically minimise diagnostic delays.
This upcoming AI component will actively support local healthcare professionals by offering real-time data monitoring, automated risk assessments, and preliminary screening support, ensuring that even remote rural clinics receive high-tier analytical guidance.
By combining cutting-edge artificial intelligence with integrated institutional communication, the Sanjeevani initiative effectively provides the state with a blueprint for affordable, reliable, and accessible preventive healthcare.
