Even as the first phase of Hyderabad Metro Rail Project inauguration is nearing, Telangana government has no clarity on who will look after the security outside the new stations. For the time being, the responsibility will fall on the local police.

The state government will allow the Cyberabad, Rachakonda, and Hyderabad police to recruit home guards to man Metro stations on the Nagole-Miyapur stretch. The stretch passes through 17 police stations and as of now, the local police will register the cases in their vicinity.
The state government has not confirmed on who will be conducting the anti-sabotage checks and frisking operations. Every station will need at least 10 persons to work in shifts round the clock but the local police stations are already short staffed.
