To reduce the waiting time of citizens during the commute of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada, the police are testing ‘VIP movement monitoring system’.
As Chandrababu has issued orders that his convoy movement must not trouble people, higher officials have taken the decision to install the system. 36 cameras have been installed from Guntur’s Undavalli residence of the CM to Prakasam Barrage and Vijayawada right up to the airport.

The cameras are AI backed and they have been linked at the Vijayawada Command Control Center. The first camera put up at Kondaveeti lake at Ethipothala works based on Internet of Things (IoT).
The camera captures the movement of the first vehicle in CM’s convoy and sends it to Command Control Centre. Based on the information from the Centre, it alerts the other three cameras.

The cameras will send the information regarding the time for which the traffic was stalled to the server. Another IoT camera has been installed at the first junction Kesarapalli after exiting Gannavaram airport.
The police have been working for two months on the system. They got a special AI program readied for the set-up. In the past, the waiting time for CM’s convoy was 10 minutes. Now, it has been reduced to 5 minutes on the higher side.
