Ex-IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar, who took voluntary retirement last month has ended speculations about his political future. He is set to join the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on August 8th at a grand public meeting in Nalgonda’s NG College grounds.
Praveen Kumar has been touring the state and amassing support of the marginalized sections and like-minded associations in his goal towards ‘Bahujan Rajyam’, with education, health, and employment as the prime agenda.
Praveen Kumar after serving the police department in various ranks has been made the secretary of the Telangana Social and Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions (TSWREIS) and is in the post for more than nine years. He also established Swaeroes, a network for social transformation with the alumni of the welfare institutions.
While some people claim him as Dalit Savior who transformed many lives, there are people including the BJP which accuse him of promoting hatred against Hinduism in the students. But then, it is true that he has a huge following in those sections and his joining will be a shot in the arm of BSP in the state. But then, the big question is if he can be a success or remain as a damager to someone by splitting the votes.
