In the wake of state bifurcation, Central government has promised to take up Polavaram project as a National project and complete it as soon as possible. To facilitate hassle free completion, Central government had brought in an ordinance which will merge submerging mandals in Bhadrachalam division in to Andhra Pradesh. On the other side, Andhra Pradesh government has written to the center to remove Telangana officials from Polavaram panel.
Earlier, Chief Secretary of Telangana and other officials are members of Telangana panel to ensure the rehabilitation is done well. But with the submerging mandals added to Seema Andhra, it is now the responsibility of AP government to take care of them. And Telangana members were not required to facilitate construction of the project. Center is expected to clear this request with out any fuss!
