On the other hand, Tummala Nageswara Rao, who is in the ring as a Khammam Congress candidate, is openly seeking TDP’s support. He says that NTR gave birth to him as a politician, and he is indebted to him for the rest of his life. It is known that the TDP has announced that it will not contest the Telangana elections.
However, the ranks of the TDP are participating in rallies and meetings in support of Congress candidates in many places. Even though the party has not made any decision in the Telangana elections, 80% of the TDP cadre is turning towards Congress after seeing the latest developments in the Telugu states.
CBN’s arrest, followed by KTR’s comments on protests in Telangana against CBN’s arrest, made the TDP cadre support its arch-rival Congress in the elections. TDP support to Congress in 2023 is greater than in 2018 when TDP officially formed an alliance with Congress.
