CBN and Peddireddy Rama Chandra Reddy are from the same Chittoor district but belong to rival parties. Peddireddy did his best to irritate CBN when YS Jagan was CM. It was very hard for CBN to tour his own Kuppam segment at that time. After 5 years, the political situation has changed. TDP has come into power, and now the ruling party has started targeting Peddireddy.
The Chittoor district collector has put a stop to Peddireddy’s land grabs. In the Punganur Constituency, specifically in Ragani Palli, Peddireddy and his followers have acquired 982 acres of government land worth 100 crores.
During Peddireddy’s tenure as a minister, these lands were allotted by the authorities to his followers. However, under the new government, their irregularities are being exposed one by one.
Recently, some local farmers brought this matter to the attention of the District Collector. They complained that the government lands had been captured and registered in the names of Peddireddy’s followers. The Collector, who looked into this complaint, immediately focused on these alienated lands.
The District Collector has instructed the Land Settlement Commissioner to file a revision petition on these lands. The people of the constituency are demanding that Minister Peddireddy be investigated and that action be taken on the looting and encroachments.
