The recent incident where Jagan was attacked with a stone in Vijayawada has sparked curiosity regarding TDP’s stance, especially in light of past events. Previously, when Jagan, then an opposition leader, was attacked at Vizag airport during CBN’s tenure as Chief Minister, YSRCP capitalized on the incident to gain sympathy in the 2019 elections. TDP found itself in a defensive position at the time.
Now, with the tables turned, TDP is seizing the opportunity to attack YSRCP over the Vijayawada incident, labeling it as “Kodi Kathhi 2.0.” Jagan, on the other hand, dismissed it as a drama launched due to a lackluster response to the election campaign, referring to it as “Kodikatti drama 2.0 version.”
Telugu Desam State President Atchannaidu alleged that the incident was orchestrated under the leadership of DGP and Intelligence IG as part of YSRCP’s pre-planning. TDP raised concerns about the security arrangements during the incident, highlighting instances such as the use of bulletproof sheets despite no power supply and the police’s failure to disperse the crowd after the attack.
This time, TDP wasted no time in exposing the incident, attributing it to the poor response to Jagan’s bus tour. The swift response from both parties underscores the intense political dynamics surrounding such incidents in Andhra Pradesh.
