The news of Telangana cabinet expansion has been doing rounds in the media for the last two weeks, after the conclusion of the Lok Sabha election polling.

According to the latest reports, cabinet expansion will be done after Lok Sabha results are declared on June 4. It is heard that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is aiming to appoint the full cabinet before August 15.

As of now, there are 12 members in the cabinet, including the Chief Minister. Six more positions are needed to be filled. As per the reports, Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy and Chennur MLA Gaddam Vivek are the frontrunners for cabinet ministry posts.

Notably, Vivek and Raj Gopal Reddy are the top two richest MLAs in Telangana with assets worth Rs. 606.67 crore and Rs. 458.39 crore respectively.

Mancherial MLA Prem Sagar Rao is also being considered for the ministry post. An ST MLA from the Lambada caste and a BC leader from the Mudiraj caste will most likely get the ministry positions. Most probably, these MLAs will be Devarakonda MLA Nenavath Balu Naik and Makthal MLA Srihari Mudiraj.

CM Revanth Reddy already promised to make Srihari the minister during the Lok Sabha election campaigning.

A candidate from the GHMC region will also get the minister post. It is heard that two or three BRS MLAs may shift to Congress after the announcement of Lok Sabha election results. After their arrival, Congress may decide on the deserving candidate for cabinet ministry post.

There are reports saying that AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal cautioned the current MLAs, indicating that they might be replaced if their performance in their constituencies during the Lok Sabha elections is unsatisfactory. However, it is also heard that no such replacements are expected in the upcoming cabinet expansion.
