The ruling Congress party wants to secure maximum seats in Telangana in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The party is focusing particularly on the four Lok Sabha constituencies that come under the Greater Hyderabad region.
The Congress leaders have come up with a new plan to win at least three out of four seats in the Greater region. For the same, senior Congress leaders are in constant talks with the local BRS leaders.
Though it formed the government, Congress miserably failed in the Greater Hyderabad area in the assembly elections. It won only three out of 29 constituencies in those polls. To win three out of four Lok Sabha seats in the same region, Congress needs to have a strong base of leaders from the ground level.
Thus, Congress leaders are holding talks with Greater BRS MLAs. Later, they are also making MLAs have a call with CM Revanth Reddy. As per reports, five BRS MLAs from Greater Hyderabad are ready to get into the Congress before the Lok Sabha elections.
According to the sources, 10 other MLAs also responded positively to Congress leaders’ invitations. Though they may not join the party immediately, they promised to work for Congress indirectly in the Lok Sabha elections.
Apparently, these MLAs would be working for BRS on the ground. But in the background, they would be helping Congress. That was reportedly the secret pact Congress made with them.
Congress is also planning to implement the same strategy with BRS corporators in the Greater region. In that way, they want BRS leaders to work for them secretly and join the party after the conclusion of the elections.
