While Andhra Pradesh government is struggling to push Center to fulfill the bifurcation promises, Telangana government do not want the center to fulfill one of the prime bifurcation promises to Telangana. According to the act, Center should setup 4000MW Power Station in Power starved Telangana. Center’s NTPC already started construction of two Power stations of 800 MW each.

NTPC is gearing up to construct three of 800 MW each to complete the promise. NTPC asked Telangana to allot land for these plants. Telangana government however is unlikely to make tha allotment as it feels giving 400 acres and having to wait for years to buy the power will not be beneficial.
Telangana government instead feels it is better to buy power from outside sources than funding these central power stations. Telangana government instead wants Center to allot power at lesser rates from its other power plants instead of these new central plants. Telangana government is mulling on a concrete proposal to take it up with the center.
