Telangana government will very soon table its new budget for 2017-18 but the government is likely to fall short by nearly Rs 25000 crore in Budget spending this year out of 1.30 lakh-crore earmarked in the previous budget. Officials say this is due to the impact of the Demonetization on the income from major revenue earning departments.

But then the government is lagging behind in the spending right from April 2016. In the first half of the financial year, the government could only spend 51615 Crore and the spending has slid down further in the second half due to Demonetization.
Out of the total, 1.3 Lakh Crore earmarked for this fiscal, the government is expecting that it would touch Rs 1 lakh-crore spending mark by the end of this fiscal in March. So, that means the government will short by at least 25000 Crore this year.
