Telangana Forefront in Taking Measures To Prevent Coronavirus Community Spreading

KCR's Vote Bank Appeasement Even in the Time of CrisisThe entire country is in fear of the dreaded Coronavirus. India had so far registered 147 cases of the infections. There are three deaths already while fourteen have recovered. The entire country is brought under the shutdown. The government of India is monitoring the situation but a few states are doing better in taking measures to curb the spread of the virus.

Telangana State seems to be better and forward-thinking in taking measures to prevent community spreading. Even though the Chief Minister tried to downplay the issue initially, the Government is quick to enter the fray. Some of the measures like compulsory quarantine for passengers from a few affected countries are first taken by Telangana even before the Government of India’s decision.

The Government is cracking down the whip on education institutions, gyms, and other public places that are violating their orders of the shutdown. The attention to detail is such even though there are just five cases in the state, the Government is already preparing large isolation wards.

The Government departments are also actively cracking down on the fake sanitizers and masks manufacturing units. The State even shut down the hostels in Ameerpet and SR Nagar where huge mass gatherings happen. The government constituted a high-level committee to monitor the situation on a real-time basis and bring in additional curbs if needed.

In complete contrast, experts say that the other Telugu State – Andhra Pradesh is completely complacent in taking measures to curb Coronavirus. In a very strange situation, the state has approached the Supreme Court for Local Elections saying that Coronavirus is no threat in the state.
