Cold weather has gripped Telangana, yet beer consumption is soaring. In Hyderabad alone, 5.89 lakh beer cases were sold in four days. During the same period last year, sales stood at 4.26 lakh cases, showing a jump of 107%.
Across Telangana, liquor revenue set fresh records with earnings touching nearly Rs 600 crore. From December 1 to December 4, total liquor sales reached Rs 578.86 crore. The surge reflects strong demand despite falling temperatures.
The 2023-25 liquor policy ended on Sunday after two years of high growth. During this period, shops sold 724 lakh liquor cases and 960 lakh beer cases. When the policy began in December 2023, sales stood at Rs 4297 crore.
In 2024, liquor sales touched Rs 37485 crore from January to December. From January to November 2025, sales recorded Rs 29766 crore. The figures highlight how alcohol consumption has expanded year after year in the state.
