Telugu Subject Compulsory, GO Issued By Telangana Government

The state government has taken a milestone decision by passing a new GO. As per the GO, Telugu will now be a compulsory subject in the syllabus of students.

The language will be compulsory in CBSE, ICSE and IB boards apart from other board schools. For students of 9th class, it will be implemented from the year 2025-26. For the 10th class students, it will be implemented from the year 2026-27.

With much of the younger generation growing up with K pop and K dramas, it is a welcome decision to retain the importance and beauty of Telugu language.




Both the KCR government and Revanth Reddy governments were keen on making Telugu compulsory subject. Finally, Revanth Reddy has taken a firm step.
