Temporary Capital Idea put on hold!

cbn-temporary-capitalIf the reports emerging are to be believed, Andhra Pradesh government is mulling to pause the idea of Temporary Capital at Amaravati Township Layout near Mangalagiri in Guntur district. The government is of the opinion that they should wait till the blue print of core capital is submitted by the Singapore government team before going forward with the Temporary Capital Idea.

Nobody knows where the administrative blocks, commercial clusters, residential areas and parks will be located in the 30,000 acres of land that is earmarked for the core capital till the master plan is drafted. And if the Master Plan and the Temporary Capital coincide then it will be a sheer waste of public resources, so the government is planning to put the idea on hold.

The Temporary Capital is expected to cost 200 Crore for its construction. The plan is to construct buildings with prefabricated superstructure with a total carpet area of 5,00,000 sq ft. The Chief Minister earlier planned to move some of the departments here by June.
