The 2016 Tamil Nadu elections ended as a huge disappointment for the DMDK chief Vijaykanth and his party. A two time MLA, Vijaykanth was contesting from the Ulundurpettai constituency in Tamil Nadu’s Vilipuram district.

He won 34,447 votes and ended up in the third place where he contested. AIADMK candidate R Kumaraguru, who won with a staggering 81,973 votes. Vijaykanth was much in news for his aggressive remarks on the ruling AIDMK party and few others.
The exit polls in the state have got it completely wrong as they predicted that Amma, Jayalalitha will loose the elections big time but the opposite happened and she won these elections comfortably.
But sadly, for Vijaykanth and his DMDK, these elections have been a slap on the face as his party did not even a single seat which is quite shameful. Vijaykanth, being a strong personality was an irritated man during these election campaigns and now looks like his frustration will haunt him for ever.
