K.T. Rama Rao’s (KTR) comments following the arrest of TDP President Chandrababu Naidu and his remarks against Congress leader Revanth Reddy have evidently caused significant political damage to the BRS in the lead-up to the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections.
Although KTR attempted to mitigate the backlash after realizing the potential harm, it seems that his statements, especially regarding TGRTC buses and women travelers, along with his apology, haven’t been able to fully reverse the public sentiment.

In parallel, BRS MLA Kaushik Reddy’s controversial behavior, both inside and outside the Assembly, including his derogatory remarks about women and regional tensions with Andhra settlers, has further tarnished the party’s image.
His attacks on fellow BRS leaders, including Arikepudi Gandhi, have escalated tensions within the party. His comments, especially targeting Andhraites, could have significant repercussions in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region, where a large number of Andhra-origin people reside.
