
BJP is looking for a woman candidate to replace JP Nadda as the national president. The saffron party is clear about its decision to go for a woman president this time around.

There is talk in party circles that Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitaraman and AP BJP MP Purandareswari are in the race for the coveted post. Of course, the name of BJP Mahila Morcha president Vanati Srinivasan is also under consideration.
The BJP has been holding organisational elections over the past few days. It has to complete state president elections in 19 states before it elects the national president. Till now, it has completed polls in 16 states.

It will soon hold party elections in Madhya Pradesh and other states. After that, the saffron party will have to go for electing its national president.
Top in the race is Nirmala Sitaraman who has been the Finance Minister since 2019. She recently met with JP Nadda and other leaders in party national headquarters.

Next is AP BJP MP Purandareswari. She worked as the AP party chief and led the all-party team abroad following Operation Sindoor.
Last but not the least, Vanati Srinivasan is the BJP National Mahila Morcha president. She won in Coimbatore against Kamal Haasan. In 2022, she was a member of the BJP central election committee.
Talk is rife that the BJP is decided on having a woman national president for the first time ever.
