Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti is busy with the numbers crunching for the upcoming GHMC elections. Along with the 150 councillors who are going to be elected, MLAs, MLCs, and members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha belonging to the GHMC limits will also have voting rights as ex-offico members.

24 MLAs, eight MLCs, three Lok Sabha members, one Rajya Sabha member along with 150 elected councillors will add to the strength of the council taking the total number to 186. Any part which crosses 93 mark will claim the Mayor post, so TRS is trying its level best to get the maximum of the 36 votes of ex-officio members on its side.
TDP has 10 MLAs in GHMC limits out of which five already jumped to TRS. BJP has five MLAs. Both the parties have one MLC each with whom TRS is in touch. Talks are also on with some of Congress MLAs and MLCs.
