Vasireddy Padma is one of the most vocal voices of the YSR Congress before 2019. She was made the AP State Women Commission Chairperson as a reward for her services.
Women Commission Chairperson is a constitutional post and the one occupying it should be away from politics. But it is not the case with Vasireddy Padma.
Vasireddy Padma issued notices to Chandrababu Naidu and Bonda Uma while they visited a rape victim in a hospital. The victim’s relatives and the general public at the hospital gave slogans against Padma.
She blamed it on Chandrababu and Bonda Uma for outraging her modesty and served notices.
In April this year, she gave notices to Pawan Kalyan saying that he is misleading the society saying it’s okay to marry thrice if divorced legally. Again, she gave notice to Janasenani about his comment about Volunteers related to missing women.
All three instances are perfectly suiting the YSR Congress agenda.
In the notice, she gave a deadline to furnish proofs for his allegation. It is fine until that point but the concluding remarks of that letter are “నిరాధార ఆరోపణలతో మహిళలను భయబ్రాంతులకు గురి చేసే మాటలను రాజకీయం కోసం వాడుతున్నారా?”
It looks like the commission has already concluded Pawan Kalyan’s remarks. And where is the neutrality?
And after that incident, Vasireddy Padma is in TV9 studio attending Rajinikanth’s debate about the same issue. There is no YSR Congress representative on the panel and Padma is talking like one.
Another question here is if someone in a constitutional post can attend TV debates and talk in favor of a party or even a government.
