South Indian politics are completely different to the north Indian political system, and this has been established for multiple decades now. This is relevant if we look at the current scenario in South India.
It is officially confirmed that the TVK, which is led by Tamil Nadu chief minister Thalapathy Vijay has joined the INDIA bloc at the central level.
For those wondering, this is a pretty significant development at the national political level as the Congress has gained a strong grip on South Indian states.
Congress had already forward the local governments in Karnataka, Kerala and Telangana. They were also in alliance with the TVK to form the government in Tamil Nadu. Despite the fact that the Congress is an extremely minimal participant in the TVK alliance, it is still a part of the government , nevertheless.
It has now been confirmed that the TVK is officially joining the INDIA bloc and this would leave Congress with 4 out of the 5 South Indian states in its grasp.
Chandrababu Naidu is the only chief minister in South India, who is supporting the NDA alliance and is a part of the Modi group. He had already announced his unwavering support to Modi government, and is confident about continuing this for the years to follow as well.
So maintaining a strong grip in Andhra Pradesh is going to be of extreme importance for the NDA government. On top of that, Chandrababu Naidu is going to be the crucial player for the BJP ecosystem in South India as he’s the only bigwig they’ve got on their side too.
