YS Sharmila, daughter of former united Andhra Chief Minister YS Rajashekhara Reddy and sister of present CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has applied for the registration of her new political party ‘YSR Telangana Party’. The party would be officially launched in Telangana on July 8th.
During the registration process at the Election Commission of India, the party ran into a problem. The Election Commission needed a No-Objection Certificate from Sharmila’s mother, Vijayamma. They were initially skeptical if Jagan will allow it. But Vijayamma came forward and gave the letter.
On April 30th, the Election Commission of India has asked for any objections over the party’s name giving time until June 16th. But no objections have come so far and so, the party sources are hoping that the registration is done. Once they receive the official papers from the EC, further details will be revealed.
The plan is to announce the party name with a huge public meeting on July 8th which happens to be YSR’s Jayanthi.
