Former Rajya Sabha member and ex YSRCP leader Vijaysai Reddy has stated that he will never turn approver in the liquor case. He said there is no reason for him to take such a step.
Vijaysai Reddy claimed that Raj Kasireddy is the karta, karma, and kriya behind the alleged Rs 3200 crore liquor scam. He said he informed the Enforcement Directorate that he arranged Rs 100 crore following a request from MP Mithun Reddy for Sajjala Sridhar Reddy.
He was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate at its Hyderabad office from 11 am to 6 pm. After the questioning, Vijaysai Reddy spoke to the media and addressed several allegations.
Vijaysai Reddy said he was unaware whether the liquor scam had taken place. When reporters questioned how he could claim ignorance despite being seen as Number 2 in the party, he responded that Jagan Mohan Reddy always maintained there was no Number 2 in YSRCP.
He stated that during the first year of the government, he was treated as Number 2. However, since 2020, he was gradually sidelined due to insecurity created by the party coterie. He said false narratives were spread only after the party lost power.
Vijaysai Reddy alleged that Jagan’s social media handles are spreading false claims that he siphoned crores of rupees. He clarified that Aurobindo Pharma properties do not belong to him and said agencies are free to verify his assets.
The ED reportedly questioned him about investments made between 2019 and 2024. Reliable sources indicate that Vijaysai Reddy may be summoned again for further inquiry.
Speaking about his political future, Vijaysai Reddy said he quit YSRCP a year ago. He added that he would announce his political re-entry after January 25.
He stated that as long as Jagan listens to his coterie, he will not return to power. Vijaysai Reddy also said he would consider joining the BJP if an offer is extended.
Vijaysai Reddy also made strong remarks about the Chandrababu government, signalling that his political stance remains firm and outspoken.
