Will Jagan Lose His Seat?

Will Jagan Mohan Reddy Lose His Seat

Doubts are bring raised over the issue of Jagan’s Assembly membership. While Jagan is busy fighting for status as the leader of opposition, he might lose his seat, say those in political circles.

Already the ruling TDP is teasing YSRCP regarding the probability of a by-election in Pulivendula. As per rule, a MLA has to attend Assembly for at least one day within 60 working days.

In Jagan’s case, he was at the Assembly for his swearing in as a MLA. Post that, he hasn’t officially registered his presence in the House. So rumours are rife that Jagan is more or less eligible for disqualification.

It is being said that the joint address of both Houses by the Governor is not counted as a business day. Hence Jagan’s presence does not matter say political analysts.

Meanwhile, Jagan made his 11-minute presence in Assembly after advise of political experts regards his disqualification. Jagan who insists that he needs time in the Assembly to talk on people’s issues has maintained that the ruling party make him leader of opposition party.

Though Jagan attended the Assembly yesterday, it counts only when Jagan attends the Assembly on the day Speaker presides over the House. The Assembly has also released a circular saying Governor’s was a customary session.

Technically, it is from today the actual session begins. Some political analysts feel had he attended Assembly today, he would have known if the mike would have been given and for how long. Jagan’s presence will be counted if he attends the session one of these days.

For now, Jagan’s stand is unknown. But there is a lot of discussion happening with both sides sticking to their side of the argument.
