Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has been facing anti-incumbency in all corners of Andhra Pradesh. Recently, a group of women protested in front of Jagan’s convoy with empty water pots.
Jagan, who is touring the Kurnool district, had been travelling to the ‘Memantha Siddham’ meeting on Friday morning in a bus. When his convoy reached Kothur village of the Gudur Mandal, a group of women protested in front of the bus with empty water pots, alleging that they weren’t getting drinking water.
The women reported that their village is home to 1200 residents. They recounted how water used to be sourced for their village from LLC to water pits, delivered via tankers to the villagers. However, due to deteriorating pipelines, they now struggle to access drinking water.
During the women’s protest, the police intervened and stopped them. Meanwhile, Jagan got down from the bus and tried to calm down the protesting women.
On the other side, CPI and CPM leaders had also protested at Kodumuru alleging that the YCP government failed to solve the water problem in the region. They demanded the government to construct an SS tank in Kodumuru immediately.
