Ever since Chandrababu Naidu announced Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who waited until he came to power, tried to kill Amaravati, but the rest is history — he was washed away. Recently, Jagan and his party machinery spread flood propaganda about Amaravati, and the CRDA issued a detailed clarification on this.
The CRDA (Capital Region Development Authority) has issued a clarification regarding the rumors about flooding.

It stated that plans have been made to develop Amaravati as a flood-free city. Tata Consulting Engineers and Netherlands-based organizations have provided reports after studying a hundred years of rainfall data.
CRDA officials shared this information with the media.

To manage flooding, we will widen the rivers flowing through Amaravati, including the Kondaveeti and Pala Vagu streams, and increase their depth and width. The flood management plan design has been approved by the technical committee.
We have estimated a budget of ₹2,062 crores for flood management works in Amaravati. The World Bank and ADB have expressed satisfaction with this plan.

If the flood management works had been completed between 2019 and 2024, the cost would have been lower, by approximately 25-30%.
We have decided to correct the negligence over the past five years. In the next three years, we will carry out flood management work alongside the city’s development stated the CRDA.
