It is very common for leading politicians to work closely with political strategists of late. YS Jagan famously work with the then IPAC senior Prashanth Kishore during 2019 who laid out a perfect strategy for Jagan’s iconic 151 seat victory back then.
But Jagan had certain differences with PK later, and he worked with another principal member of IPAC in 2024 which proved to be disastrous. After assessing this result, it is natural for Jagan to go for other alternative options, and he is said to be on this job now.
Reportedly, there is this political strategist, who is named Kapil Sahu who closely worked with Joseph Vijay for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly polls. Apparently, he was the principal political strategist for Vijay in this year’s historical election.
If Jagan really does bring Kapil on board for his election campaign here in 2029, then it could add weightage to the recent speculations that Jagan admires Vijay and the two of them could potentially work together on the national front in the future.
But if we come to Andhra Pradesh scenario, it is different from Tamil Nadu, which had a lot of political vacuum due to years of DMK and AIDMK rule. But in Andhra Pradesh, we already have the existing alliance which is considered enough and also powerful enough to take on Jagan. So this fight would be far superior for any strategist.
For now, Jagan must be entirely focused on his upcoming Padayatra that is going to start in 2027. Momentarily, he might not be bothered about any other aspect of his political strategising for the time being. But that doesn’t rule out the possibility of working with this Kapil Sahu at a political level in the coming days.
