YSR Congress not to contest Rajya Sabha Polls!
YSR Congress had decided not to field its candidate in Rajya Sabha elections. The party had declared that it did not have numbers to win so will not be fielding its candidate. But analysts say the party just wants to be conscious in its Samayikya Andhra stand. It do not want to take the support of Congress, TRS or TDP whom it is accusing of aiding state bifurcation directly or indirectly.

On the other side, the party did not make it clear that if it is going to support any other party’s candidate or Independent. It is known that the election of 6 Rajya Sabha seats from Andhra Pradesh will take place on February 7th. Going by the current strength of parties in the assembly, Congress will surely bag 3 seats while major opposition party, TDP will bag 2 seats. The race is on for the 6th seat.
