The YSR Congress ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh has been slapping their thighs in the name of 40% vote share. Despite the humiliating defeat the 2024 election, YCP is taking in this principal of 40% vote share that they could successfully maintain.
This was emphasised further by Ambati Rambabu, as he said the three leading parties in Andhra Pradesh have combine for 60% vote share while YSRCP alone is doing 40%.
He sounded very proud about the fact that YSRCP has 40% voting support and spoke of it as a big deal.
But in the constitutional and democratic boundaries, all it takes for a party to farm, the government is marginally 1% vote share. Moreover, it is the number of the seats that are secured in the Assembly segments that matter rather than the overall vote share.
By Ambati Rambabu’s logic, if YSRCP is fully satisfied with the 40% share that they have and are more than satisfied with it, then there is no possibility of coming back to power as long as the alliance exists, says a commentator.
It is reported for that it is strange to see Jagan and his party men being so very happy with the 40% vote share that conventionally came from the Congress and YSR legacy. If there is no desire to go the extra journey and actually capture the required additional voting from the NDA faction, Jagan might never become CM again, commented the same expert with M9.
